You will not be able to get clothes at Evacuation Centers (hinanjo) immediately after a disaster. Take a change of clothes with you to the Evacuation Center.

It is common for there to be no bathing facilities at Evacuation Centers (hinanjo). See the notice board at the Evacuation Center for information on bathing facilities.

Not all Evacuation Centers (hinanjo) will allow you to bring pets with you. Ask Evacuation Center staff.
If your pet has a cage or similar, bring it to the Evacuation Center. Follow the Evacuation Center's rules about where to keep your pet, etc. -
There will not be pet food at the Evacuation Center. Bring your own with you.

The date that banks will reopen will be announced on TV, radio, and on notice boards in Evacuation Centers (hinanjo). You should be able to withdraw money again within about 3-7 days.

When you go to withdraw money, take a form of ID (passport, residence card, health insurance card, employee ID, student card, Individual Number Card (My Number card), etc.) along with your cash card/passbook.

After a major disaster, even if you don't have your bank passbook, cash card or your personal seal, you can still withdraw cash if you can prove your identity.

After a major disaster, it is common for no garbage collection vehicles to come for several days.
Until collection day, keep your garbage at home. -
Ask at a local Evacuation Center (hinanjo) to find out when garbage will be collected.
Throw food waste and other waste liable to rot out first.
Waste that does not need to be disposed of immediately (non-combustible waste, recyclables, etc.) should be kept at home as far as possible.
Waste that comes about as a result of a disaster cannot be put out for regular collection like everyday waste. -
Waste resulting from a disaster is called Disaster Waste (saigai gomi).
Disaster Waste has different rules for separation, and is gathered at temporary collection spots.
The temporary collection spots are often empty lots or parks.
