Education System and Learning Japanese-Language

Study Japanese

Students can study Japanese at Japanese language schools or community Japanese language classes.

Japanese-language school

This is a school that teaches Japanese to those whose first language is not Japanese.

There are different courses for different purposes such as for preparation to take entrance exams of Japanese universities or vocational schools, or for use at work.

Normally, classes are held for 4-5 hours a day or 20-25 hours a week.

Many people study for one to two years to take entrance exams of universities or vocational schools or look for jobs.

Community Japanese-language classes

Japanese language classes are held by government offices, international associations, NPOs, volunteer groups, etc. for foreigners living in the community.

The classes are held in government office facilities or vacant classrooms at schools, and they are free of charge or with low fees.

While learning Japanese, you can interact with local people and get information for daily lives.

There are various types of classes such as classes for adults, for children, for parents and children, for an individual, or for a group.

Contact your local municipal office or the International Association for more details.
