The Christmas Lights in Various Places

The Year-End Season in Tokyo

In December, you may see illuminated displays in various places in Tokyo. In winter, the air is clearer and illumination displays look more beautiful. It gets dark early in this season, so you may enjoy illumination events for a long time. Here are some of the most popular Christmas-light displays in Tokyo.

Marunouchi Illumination

This location is close to Tokyo Station. More than 200 trees along the 1.2-km stretch of Marunouchi Naka-dori street are lit up with Christmas lights.

Roppongi Hills

The "Roppongi Hills Christmas" event is now underway. Keyakizaka street is decorated with white and blue LED lights, and the illumination of Tokyo Tower may be seen in the same view.

Tokyo Midtown

"MIDTOWN WINTER MOMENTS" is now underway. You may enjoy a variety of illumination displays, inside Midtown, in the garden, and throughout the entire premises.

Year-End Cleaning

The Year-End Season in Tokyo

In order to welcome the New Year with a good feeling, Japanese people do a thorough cleaning of their domiciles, in order to cleanse places that are not cleaned often. It is hard to do it in one day, so it is more efficient to plan and divide the cleaning into several parts: sort through bookshelves, wardrobes, etc. and pick out unnecessary items; clean the screens, exhaust fans, and windows, to remove a year's filth. You have to be careful about the garbage collection schedule in your area. Garbage collection is suspended during the year-end and New Year holidays. When will you be able to throw away the unwanted items and garbage that you have collected? When planning your cleaning, don't forget to consult the garbage collection schedule.
