Multilingual Digital Picture Books for Children with International Roots

Multilingual Picture Book Club Rainbow is creating a variety of multilingual digital picture books for reading and listening to the languages of a variety of different countries. They want to give children with a connection to foreign countries the opportunity to connect with the language and culture of the countries where they have roots. With this hope in mind, many multilingual picture books on topics such as Japanese folktales and old stories from various countries were created.

Rainbow's multilingual digital picture books are mostly made in the ChattyBooks format, which can be viewed using the internet browser of a computer. This format enables users to listen to audio while viewing the digital books and also enables them to freely change the speed of the audio or the size of the type. In addition, since the words are displayed in colors as they are read out, it's easy to tell which words are currently being read, which is very convenient.

These multilingual digital books also give Japanese children the opportunity to experience foreign languages and cultures.
