The Japanese language learning website "Connect and Enhance Your Life in Japanese," released in June this year by the Agency for Cultural Affairs was created with the goal of enabling foreigners living in Japan to acquire Japanese language skills for their lives. Foreigners can learn Japanese to use in any type of situation while watching videos that portray different scenarios of everyday life, such as shopping, asking for directions, going to a municipal office, or even looking for a new place to live.

Videos with 18 scenes and 54 situations in all posted on the website are divided into three levels. These allow the learner to choose a situation to learn and a level of content that suits their own level of Japanese language. Currently six languages are supported. They are English, Chinese (simplified), Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Japanese. In addition to subtitles in Japanese and romaji, you can also display subtitles in the foreign language of your choice.

The Agency for Cultural Affairs has set up this website to allow foreigners living in areas where Japanese language classes for ‘Foreign Nationals as Residents' are not held to have daily practice in conversing in Japanese. With Connect and Enhance Your Life in Japanese, you can learn Japanese and acquire the information you will need to live in Japan at the same time. Anyone can use it for free without registration. We hope you will give it a try at least once.
