The Kokubunji International Association

About the International Association

Established in 1991, the Kokubunji International Association (KIA) is a voluntary grassroots organization that, for the purposes of promoting internationalization, engages in friendly exchanges with foreign residents and in mutually supportive activities. KIA's main activities include Japanese language classes, parent-and-child Japanese language classes, various seminars in foreign languages, foreign language courses, lectures on the topic of international understanding, exchange meetings for foreign mothers, cooperation in the integrated studies of elementary and junior high schools, assistance in Japanese and in the respective native languages for children and students, and training programs to develop volunteers.
