International Associations in Tokyo

Association for Nakano International Communications

About the International Association

The Association for Nakano International Communications was established by Nakano City on June 26, 1989. It undertakes a variety of activities including; (1) the promotion of exchanges with foreign cities, (2) the support of foreign residents, and (3) the realization of a multicultural society in the area, etc. All of these activities are cooperated by a force of local volunteers.
Currently, one in every 14 residents of Nakano City is a foreign national. In cooperation with the city's administration, resident's associations and other groups, the Association aims to create a local society where there is the "promotion of cooperation and multiculturalism", where people of different languages and cultures understand and respect one another.
