Support Groups for Foreign Residents / International Organizations
Japan Association for Global Education
About the Support Group
The NPO Japan Association for Global Education, with a background in immigration support history that began with post-war immigration promotion, has utilized practical "Global Education" based on participatory and dialogue-based learning to aim for the realization of a multicultural society. This was about informing children about the realities and challenges of the world.
However, with changes over time, the flow of migration from Japan to overseas experienced a "reverse flow" phenomenon, shifting focus to settlement support for returnees and foreign immigrants. From a multiculturalism perspective, we are developing systems that allow both immigrants and local communities to grow together.
In particular, we devote our efforts to "Simple Japanese" education and academic advancement support for foreign children in Tokyo, who are in the most vulnerable positions, providing close support to help them overcome cultural and economic barriers.
Through these activities, the association serves as a bridge "connecting schools and society" to create a sustainable future where people respect each other and transform diversity into strength.
