【Disaster Prevention Topics⑪】~Do You Know the Traffic Restrictions when a Major Earthquake Strikes?~
The Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation “TSUNAGARI” is introducing tools that are useful for disaster prevention, as part of our “Disaster Prevention Topics.”
When a major earthquake strikes, emergency response vehicles (ambulances, fire engines, etc.) will need to use the roads.
Normal cars may not be able to use main roads.
The Metropolitan Police Department has prepared a leaflet that explains the traffic restrictions/what not to do during major earthquakes (magnitude lower six or higher).
Traffic Restrictions when a Major Earthquake (magnitude higher than lower six) Strikes
・After a major earthquake, do not get into a car.
・Do not travel into the city by car.
・If you are already traveling by car, stop the car somewhere other than a road (parking area, etc.).
・After arriving at your destination, do not get into a car.
- Please read the leaflet for more details.
