*CALL FOR BEGINNER JAPANESE LANGUAGE LEARNERS — TEACHER TRAINING PRACTICUM*

Are you interested in learning Japanese? The ALLEX Foundation (Alliance for Language Learning and Educational Exchange) is looking for *beginner-level participants* to take part in the teaching practicum portion of our Japanese language teacher training program!

*About the Program*

For more than 35 years, ALLEX has been training Japanese language instructors from across Japan and placing them at U.S. universities. This year, 18 new Japanese language teachers will be honing their teaching skills during an intensive two-week training program, and we need learners like you to make it happen.
This is not a traditional language class. As a practicum participant, you will be part of a teacher training experience in which new instructors practice their lessons under the guidance of experienced educators. While you will genuinely be learning Japanese, please keep in mind that the primary purpose of these sessions is to support the development of our new teachers.

*Who Should Apply*

This opportunity is for non-native speakers of Japanese who are living in Tokyo and have no or beginner-level Japanese skills. Whether you've picked up a bit of the language since arriving or have studied it casually, we welcome participants eager to develop their abilities further while contributing to the training of the next generation of Japanese language teachers!

The ideal participant is someone who:
• Has little to no experience speaking Japanese
• Is available weekdays from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM, July 13–17 and July 20–24
• Can commit 2–3 hours outside of class each day for homework
• Is enthusiastic about learning Japanese!
Other eligibility requirements:
• 18 years of age or older
• Currently lives in Tokyo (or within commuting distance)
• Able to obtain course textbook
