PDF Summer Camp for Children with International Backgrounds 2026

This summer, we will offer a summer camp for children with international backgrounds again.
Regardless of international circumstances, children from any country are welcome to participate.
■What kind of camp is this?
・We'll play outdoors in nature.
・We'll enjoy fun activities together.
・You'll have the opportunity to make new freiends.
・We'll spend our time using Japanese. (We'll use easy Japanese, illustrations, and volunteers will be available to help you.)
■Recommended for children who:
・Are not confident in Japanese.
・Feel anxious about school.
・Want to make friends.
・Want to try new experiences.

■Summer Camp Information
[Dates] August 21(Fri.) to August 23 (Sun.), 2026. 2 nights, 3 days.
[Who can participate?] Children with international backgrounds, living in Japan who are 8-15 years old (from 3rd grade of elementary school to 3rd grade of junior high school) on April 1, 2026.
*This program is not open to those who are living in another country and come to Japan only during the summer vacation period.
[Capacity] 30 people (by lottery)
[Meeting & Return Locations] Shinjuku Station or Kunitachi Station
[Destination] Tokyo YMCA Yamanakako Center (Yamanashi Prefecture)
[Participation Fee]
This camp offers financial assistance for participation fees.
Depending on your family situation, you can choose from the following options.
*All participants are treated equally during the camp, regardless of the fee they pay.


■Participation Fee(You can choose from the following four options.)
・I will pay the full fee (59,400 yen).
・I will pay 29,700 yen (with financial support).
・I will pay 11,000 yen (with financial support).
・I am unable to pay the fee (full support requested)
The application process is simple. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
*Depending on the amount of assistance you are applying for and the information you provide, we may ask you to submit specific documents.

■ Required Documents (We can assist you with your application if you have the following documents ready)
・Proof of non-taxable income
・Proof of receiving school expense support
・Proof of participation in the Child Rearing Allowance for Single Parents
・Proof of receiving welfare benefits
・Recommendation from a school teacher or a representative of a support organization
Simple documents are fine.
If you have trouble preparing the documents, please let us know.
You may also submit photos of the documents. Just take a picture with your smartphone and send it to us.
Not everyone is required to submit them.

・please do not worry if you're not comfortable with Japanese.

【How to participate】
① Please apply using the application form between 1:00 PM on June 9th and June 29th.
More details will be posted on our website once they are ready,

② Participants will be selected by lottery, considering age and gender balance.

③ We will email you the results of the lottery on July 7th.

④ An orientation for participating campers will be held on August 1th.
